My name is Jessica. I am an engineer living in upstate New York, just outside of the wild Adirondacks with my Husband Chuck, our two little boys, dog Brody and a little flock of chickens.
This blog is a collection of the things that I am most passionate about, food, toxin free living, and people communing in nature. I fully believe that the way we live our lives, our personal health, our diets, and the health of the earth around us are all connected. It is my hope that you can find beautiful examples of those connections here on the blog.
What you will actually find here:
Rustic, seasonal food with a focus on ingredients and recipes that are local to me in the Atlantic Northeast. This does not mean that I don’t still love to branch out with international flavors, and comfort food. I am human after all.
I don’t think food is just about the recipe. Each ingredient came from somewhere, it had to be grown, processed or produced in some way to show up on your table. I truly feel that understanding these connections is important to understanding our own culture. You will find that my husband and I do our best to produce a large portion of our food ourselves, or actually, meet the people who do.
I also have a passion for teaching people about more natural lifestyles. I have learned a lot in my career with environmental remediation and feel it is my duty to help educate others on the dangers that are lurking everywhere. I’ve found a home in this not only in this space but also while building a thriving Young Living business.
Living slow in the modern world is a completely attainable goal that I work toward every day while still maintaining my corporate-style job and suburban home. Please join me on this journey, I’d love to have you along.
