You guys, November flew by, like literally just flew. I feel like I missed the entire month because it went by so fast. Similarly to last month little went as planned, but I’m taking it in stride. It might just be the way of things now. I can’t tell you how this year’s one little word has made this whole mess so much easier. It’s become a mantra for me, helping me stay sane in all the crazy.

Wood ducks are some of the most beautiful ducks around, in my opinion. It seems fitting that they are also undeniably delicious. When cooked properly the meat is tender, juicy and full of flavor. Wood duck is easily one of my favorites.

Oh for the love of a good kale salad.
Admittedly it took me a while to actually like kale. It had its time in the limelight as the top superfood for a long time, and I just couldn’t get on the train. The leaves were tough, the stems woody, and it never did well in my garden. Then I began to learn the truth about kale.
