This spicy apricot sauce is one of my favorite recipes to make in the summer time when apricots are in season. They are fresh and juicy and just begging to be used in all kinds of dishes from desserts to more savoury ones like this. I like to put away a few jars of apricot preserves each year so that the goodness can last well into the winter season. After spending the day in front of the stove putting up preserves tossing together this dish on the grill is a nice reprieve come dinner time….

I love this time of year. It feels like there’s some kind of new produce in season every other week. It’s just a time of abundance and it’s so refreshing after a long winter and wet slow spring.
Personally, my gardens are not growing as well as I would like so we are getting as much as I had envisioned. I, like everybody else I talk to around here, blame the weather. If it’s not cold storming, it’s ridiculously hot and humid. There’s just no in between. The poor plants don’t know what to do….

I get really sick of the butter laden, fried, and heavy food that seems to dominate the restaurant scene.
