Overlook Mountain 10/29/16 – 4.6 RT
A couple weekends ago Brody and I ventured down to the Catskills to catch the last of the fall foliage. We met up with our friend Alicia there around noon.
The Trail head was BUSY. Like wait for 15 minutes for a parking spot, and pray no one backs into you once your parked kind of busy. When we were leaving it was even more packed, with cars dangerously lining the roadways leading up to the parking lot.
Guys, this is why I like to start my hikes early, it helps me avoid the crowds.
Anywhoodles…
This hike was surprisingly easy. A gentle gradient lead up to some ruins and then a beautiful look off, as well as the fire tower. The views were awesome, but the number of people made it difficult to maneuver, and made Brody a little nervous.
I think this would be a great off season hike to help avoid the crowds the gentle gradients means you could probably ski or snowshoe up fairly easily. It’s also great for small children and newbies.
