Fall is coming on hard these days. It’s is all about sweaters, boots, and pumpkin spice (though I prefer chai). As the weather gets cooler I’m taking the time to enjoy the last of the summer produce. Things like tomatoes and summer squash are making their final appearances at the market for the season. There is nothing like a fresh, well-grown tomato. Those grocery store tomatoes you find in the winter just do not compare….
I have no idea where to start on this recap. I have so many thoughts, so I suppose we will just dive right in….
I’m so in love with this time of year. The time when summer is winding down, but fall hasn’t quite started yet. The days are cooler, and the produce is amazing. There are only a few short weeks each year when you can get both summer produce like tomatoes, and zucchini as well as fall favorites. I’m talking sweet fall squash, crisp greens and apples….
Last time we sat down for this little update I told you that we were so busy, and let me just say that it hasn’t felt like it’s slowed down at all. Except now I’m getting that nesting itch where that second baby is on the way, and it suddenly feels like crunch time. There’s still so much to do you guys!

Featherbed Lane is an idyllic little farm located down a tree-lined dirt road on the outskirts of town. The 1870’s farmhouse is surrounded by a collection of well-maintained bright red barns and neat greenhouses. There is even a storybook line up of horse-drawn farm equipment. Beyond the fields stretch acres upon acres of forests….
