Have you heard the news yet? I announced it first on the podcast. It’s coming to Instagram next. Yes, I’m cryptic. Deal with it.
The Baby:
Little boy started off the month sleeping like a dream, then he got a cold. Poor thing couldn’t breathe at all, which of course made it hard for him to sleep. He pulled through and is feeling so much better. Also, I swear he grew like half a foot in this month. He looks so much more like a toddler than a baby, and it kills me.
House & Garden Projects:
It’s all about the gardens. We are building new beds, cleaning out and prepping old ones, and planting all the things. Honestly, it’s a lot of work, and I love it. I’m expanding the front flower bed and adding a new bed to the vegetable garden this year. I gave the herb & tea garden a big facelift and starting a hugelkultur mound in the backyard. This place is finally starting to feel like something I can call my own…it’s only been 3 years.
Chuck was out of town for a portion of the month which put a damper on the project list, but he’s started work on cleaning up the trim for the kitchen. You guys, it’s almost done!
The Chickens:
The ladies are still loving their new freedoms and the nice weather. The one thing that’s bugging me is that they haven’t been gaining back their feathers after molting this spring. Does anyone know what’s up with that? What can I do to bring back the fluffy butts?
P.S. I’m still working on that 1-year post about what we have learned keeping chickens.
The Podcast:
This episode This episode was a special one with me interviewing Chrystina about how she started a conference. A conference is kind of a big deal right? She makes it sound so easy and doable. Listen to it now on iTunes, or on gatheringspodcast.com.
Also, there is that little announcement at the end.
Looking Forward:
Keeping my mouth shut until you hear the news.
Stats:
Spent on Groceries in November:
$314.19 – Still cleaning out freezers, and the last of last years canned goods, though I did take advantage of a few good sales.
The cost of Garden Supplies 2017:
$162 – This includes all of 2018. This month we bought a load of dirt and lots of plants. I did not start any of my own plants this year. I figured with the little monster running around they would survive. We don’t have a good set up for starting seeds at our house. Something to work on in the future.
